EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma, distressing life experiences, and PTSD symptoms.

How is EMDR therapy different from other therapies?

EMDR is a unique approach to therapeutic work. EMDRIA, the premier international professional association for EMDR therapy, describes it this way:

“EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the past or completing homework between sessions. EMDR therapy, rather than focusing on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviors resulting from a distressing issue or memory, allows the brain to resume its natural healing process.”

EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories so that they don’t have as much charge or triggering effect in the present. You can learn more by calling me or clicking on the “About EMDR Therapy” button here.
